Our top priority - creating pathways
Though a Grand Valley State University education is a good value, it remains a financial stretch for many families with modest incomes. These families do not qualify for federal need-based aid, and are often left to borrow or pay the entire education cost.
The difference in the cost of education to need-based households and pathway eligible households can be seen below.
Support from the Grand Valley community for these middle income, pathway eligible students and families is critical. Pathway scholarships fill the gap between savings and financial aid. By supporting these students' educations we can widen the pathway to graduation, helping them achieve their goals.
Three ways to support pathway scholarships
Endowed Pathway Scholarships
An endowed pathway scholarship, in your name or in honor of someone, creates a permanent pathway to opportunity for students. Your gift will be invested in the Grand Valley State University endowment fund and the earnings used to award scholarships every year. You have up to five years to fund your endowment or you can make an outright gift.
Annual Pathway Scholarships
Put your gift to use right away with an annual pathway scholarship in your name or in honor of someone else. You can pledge your support over a number of years to provide immediate support our students can count on.
Give to the Grand Valley Pathway Scholarships General Fund
Your gift will be combined with others to provide immediate support to widen the pathway towards graduation for current students. Our financial aid office can use these funds today to assist those families with the greatest need.
