Graduate Assistantship Information and Resources for Faculty and Staff

If you have a Graduate Assistant position available or in mind, please see the helpful Guidlines for Writing Graduate Assistant Job Descriptions. When you are ready to appoint a Graduate Assistant, please use the Graduate Assistantship Appointment Form.

Please submit any new or revised GA job descriptions to Irene Fountain in the Office of Graduate Studies so they may be reviewed to determine if the position is taxable or not taxable.

Grand Valley State University gives faculty and staff the opportunity to hire qualified graduate students to be Graduate Assistants to help with special projects and assignments that require the skilled work of a graduate student. However, graduate assistantships are not to be used in lieu of hiring student employees for clerical and office support. Deadlines

Appointment forms should be in the Office of Graduate Studies for review and approval by:

Spring-Summer '13 - April 22 (Please confirm with the OGS that you have tuition waiver credits available prior to making an appointment. Contact Irene Fountain for details.)

Fall '13 and Academic Year '13-'14 -  July 24.

Winter '14  -  November 25
