OGS Grad Assistants Tackle Survey Projects
The Office of Graduate Studies conducted several survey projects in the 2011-12 academic year. Heather DeNio and Yasha Nath, GAs in the OGS, were instrumental in creating the surveys, building mailing lists of survey recipients, and compiling data from respondents. In the fall 2011 semester, two separate surveys concerning graduate students were sent to hundreds of recipients. The first survey was to gather information from current graduate students at GVSU about how and why they chose to obtain their graduate education at GVSU, and the second survey went to individuals who requested information from GVSU about its graduate programs, but did not enroll.
During the Winter 2012 semester, Heather DeNio assisted Dr. Priscilla Kimboko, SPNHA, by creating a survey for attendees of the 2012 Art & Science of Aging gerontology conference. Heather also worked with Dr. John Stevenson, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies, and Dr. Sal Alaimo, SPNHA, to create a workload survey for faculty teaching graduate courses.
The graduate students’ work on these survey projects are valuable to the Graduate Studies mission and vision to support graduate education at GVSU.
