PACES Program Featured at MAGS

The 68th Annual Meeting of the Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools held its annual meeting in Chicago from April 11-13 where Associate Dean John Stevenson gave a 1-hr presentation titled, “Student Success Programs at Master’s Comprehensives: PACES Program Overview.”  Dr. Stevenson’s talk to an audience of graduate deans and administrators featured the PACES program story at GVSU, from inception to future directions.  His presentation immediately followed the keynote address from Dr. Debra Stewart, President of the Council of Graduate Schools, who shared information from the most recent CGS survey about quality and accountability in graduate education, featuring the need for student success programs at the graduate level at both doctoral and master’s comprehensive institutions.

PACES will be entering its 4th year of programming in the coming 2012-13 academic year and planning is underway for more weekend events on Saturdays in the fall and winter semesters.  Dr. Stevenson’s presentation can be viewed from the meeting’s program website,
