Adriel A. Hilton, assistant vice president for inclusion initiatives, was interviewed by Wisconsin Public Radio for a story about historically black colleges and universities.
Cynthia McCurren, dean of the Kirkhof College of Nursing, was elected to the board of directors for the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. Her term will be from 2013-2015.
Paul Reitemeier, chair of the Human Research Review Committee, was named to the inaugural Alion Human Research Protections Program Council on Accreditation.
The McNair Scholars Program received a $239,400 grant from the U.S. Department of Education, bringing total program funding to $492,000.

Lihua Huang, assistant professor of social work, gave a presentation, “The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and Health Parities in Older Adults: Lessons from an American Debate,” at the Social Policy International Symposium in Shanghai, China. She also co-chaired a session on health equity and health policy.
