Grand Valley's 50th anniversary had a national audience September 2 when the Lakers beat West Texas A&M, 34-31, in the football season opener.

The game in Lubbers Stadium was televised by the CBS College Sports Network. Grand Valley football players wore a patch on their home jerseys this year to commemorate the university’s 50th anniversary. Also the football field was painted with the anniversary logo.

Also, golf balls with the anniversary logo are for sale through the University Bookstore website, www.gvsu.edu/ubs, and at the Meadows Pro Shop. The flags on the Meadows golf course also sport the logo.
