December 2010: Jeff Woollett
When a routine physical turned sour, Jeff Woolletts life would never be the same. At age 49, Jeff was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. In a society where Breast Cancer seems to take precedence in the media, Jeff and his wife were in the dark as to the severity of Jeff's situation.

October 2010: Positive Black Women
Health & Wellness recognizes the Positive Black Women of GVSU for their outstanding motivation to increase health, productivity, and overall attitudes of its participants and the individuals around them through educational and inspirational events.

Many area businesses, college students and community volunteers assist with Schools of Hope, a Heart of West Michigan United Way program. Robbi Osipoff, a GVSU staff member, was among the many individuals who helped a child improve their reading skills.

June 2010: Kate Stoetzner
While keeping busy as the Director of International Students at GVSU, Kate has managed to find the time, and motivation, to train for a triathlon. Recently completing the Riverbank 5k race in May, led Kate to begin training for the Sprint Trek Triathlon in Columbus, Ohio, this July 24th.

May 2010: Lisa Ham
Lisa Ham, with the Career Counseling Center, loves to stay healthy and active! She and her family own Ham Family Farms. Each produce season, they provide GVSUs farmers market with fresh and healthy produce. Her family enjoys canning and freezing their produce, for healthy eating year round.

The MSB&TDC staff actively participate in many Health & Wellness programs. Their collaborative group involvement helps keep each of them motivated and accountable to eat healthy and stay active.

March 2010:TEAM GVSU
Words from a team member:
Robert Deaner, Assistant Professor in the Psychology department, runs year round and dabbles in other activities such as biking, rollerblading, and snowshoeing. He tries to get outside with his kids and do things like skating, biking, hiking, sledding, and playing at the park. Eating healthy is important to Robert, his wife, and children.

February 2010: Mary Ogdahl
Mary Ogdahl, Research Assistant, with GVSU's Annis Water Resources Institute, has been with GVSU Community for nearly 6 years. With Mary soon expecting a baby, she needed to research her child care options. The task seemed overwhelming at first. Who was she to call? What questions was she to ask?

January 2010: Autumn DeRoo
Autumn DeRoo, is a GVSU staff member, with the Information Technology Department at the Eberhard Center and has been with the GVSU Community for over 5 years. She is excited about the many benefits offered through the Health & Wellness Department. Last year, Autumn had the opportunity to take part in the Know Your Numbers GVSU! Clinical Health Risk Assessment Campaign. The assessment offered Autumn a broad perspective on proactive health solutions.
