The Clothesline Project
Date: October 21, 2013
October 21st - October 25th, 2013
The Clothesline Project is a program that raises awareness around the issues of violence against women. It is a vehicle for those who have been impacted by violence to tell their stories in their own unique way, using words and/or artwork to decorate a t-shirt. Shirts are hung on a clothesline and serve as an educational tool for those who view the shirts, can be a healing tool for anyone who makes a shirt, and allows survivors, friends, and family to see that they are not alone. There are estimated to be 500 projects nationally and internationally with an estimated 50,000 to 60,000 shirts.
