Why did you choose to attend Grand Valley?
The location. I appreciate the impact Grand Valley has had in the Grand Rapids community. Also, I knew a lot of Grand Valley grads in the engineering workforce that spoke highly of the program.

What do you like best about Grand Valley?
I like the hands-on, real-world experience you get. We do a lot of projects for local companies and nonprofits. The projects actually benefit a business or a hospital, for example. I've gained confidence in myself to be able to carry out a product from design to finish based on these experiences.

How have you benefited from Grand Valley's liberal education foundation?
One example would be the Civ Sequence, Making of Europe, which I took through the Honors College. It opened me up to another culture and a part of history that I otherwise would not be exposed to or know about.

How will Grand Valley help you meet your future goals?
Through the co-op program in engineering. I work full-time now at my co-op. It gives me needed experience in the workforce prior to graduating. It also sets Grand Valley engineering students apart from engineering students at other schools.

How has the Honors College enhanced your overall education?
Honors helped me learn to think from a different perspective. For example, the Making of Europe course helped me understand how people thought differently throughout time.

How have you benefitted from living in Honors College housing?
It was a great experience because it was such a close-knit experience. We all shared common academic interests. The Honors College building affords great study spaces and the ability to interact with like-minded students.

Why would you recommend the Honors College to others?
I would recommend the Honors College because it will challenge you and your ways of thinking and make you much more aware of the world around you.
