Job summary

Assist in the delivery of the libraries’ electronic and paper course reserve services, enabling faculty to provide resources to their students for class assignments.

Primary duties (Scope of Work)

  • Advises and consults faculty to format course reserve content and establish appropriate rules for its use
  • Ensures that every reserve transaction complies with copyright law through the use of the Copyright Clearance Center or by direct contact with individual publishers; monitors libraries’ copyright budget
  • Locates, obtains, and makes available resources requested by faculty by searching library’s catalog, online databases or the collections of other libraries
  • Assist faculty and staff on use of electronic reserves
  • Prepares reserve materials for electronic access using a suite of software and hardware
  • Creates bibliographic records in libraries’ online catalog allowing students to locate and access course reserve resources
  • Responds quickly to course reserve problems reported by faculty and staff by ascertaining relevant information and taking appropriate action
  • Assists in the supervision of student employees and the coordination of their work

  • Possess strong skills with computer interfaces
  • Minimum of 2 years related work experience and/or relevant training
  • High school graduate

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1 year specific course reserve experience
  • Familiarity and experience with an integrated library system (Voyager preferred)
