Title: Media Services Technician - Holland Meijer Campus
Classification: T3 Department: Continuing Ed. - Holland
Job Summary: Responsible for providing technical and support services to faculty, staff and students at the Meijer Campus in Holland. Primary Duties & Global Responsibilities: (Must be able to perform these duties; usually consist of more than 5% of your job.) u Monitor computer labs at the Meijer Campus.u Provide technical support for students and faculty using computer labs, copiers, printers, office space and classroom equipment. u Schedule media equipment.u Provide routine equipment inspections, maintenance, repair, and cleaning of computer equipment.u Provide technical support for staff at Meijer Campus.u Support wide range of student services such as; instruction in logging on to blackboard, setting up the student e-mail system, changing passwords, and misc. other student computer assistance requests.u Maintain a log of computer equipment repairs and/or initiates repairs, purchase rotations, and maintenance checks.u Monitor ITV and Satellite connections.u Supervise student employees.u All other related duties as assigned.Secondary Duties & Responsibilities: u Compiles statistical data for Continuing Education Department.u Assists with special events at Meijer Campus.u Updates Web site.u Tracking missing and/or overdue equipment.u Updates Director on short and long term goals, projects, trends and purchases.u May review budget and assist with budgeting for equipment and supplies for computers and printers.u Maintains and keeps adequate inventory of supplies and equipment.u Makes recommendations and requests for purchases.u May be required at times to serve in a back up capacity for front desk services.Minimum Required Qualifications: u High school graduate supplemented by two years of technical training.u Minimum of three years related experience.u Demonstrated experience to successfully work under pressure and meet deadlines.u Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain positive interpersonal relationships.u Demonstrated experience to provide quality customer service.u Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work and coordinate work activity of others.u Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.u Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain satisfactory work performance and attendance record.u Must be able to lift and carry equipment such as computers, printers, monitors, TVs, etc.u Working knowledge of AV production equipment, systems design, electronics and audio systems and strong computer skills.Desired Qualifications: (Preferred in addition to required qualifications.) u Bachelor`s degree.u Supervisory experience.u Ability to work flexible hours.u Desire to stay current with technological advances in related fields.Revised Date: February 2005 For questions regarding employment, email Human Resources Employment Information.
