Responsibilities:
- Provide support for the Director and Associate Director(s) including scheduling and managing of calendars, correspondence, and coordination and implementation of special projects.
- Represent the Meijer Honors College (be first contact) and provide information to students and prospective students, as well as to outside agencies and visitors.
- Assist the Director with projects, reports, publications, and files/records.
- Assist the Student Services Coordinator with projects, reports, publications, and files/records.
- Responsible for office management including the scheduling, training and development of clerical and temporary staff.
- Responsible for the recruitment, selection, training, evaluation and supervision of student employees and their employment records.
- Compile and logically format statistical data, reports, materials for presentations, and proposals.
- Maintain, process, and manipulate data using work processing, database and spreadsheet software (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
- Coordinate various special events and functions, including Orientation, Pre-Transitions, Co-and Extra-curricular programming, etc.
- Assist the Director with employee recordkeeping.
- Responsible for updating the Meijer Honors College handbook, Policies and Procedures manual, etc.
- Assist the Director with course scheduling.
- Update Honors curriculum information and produce curriculum and advising guides online and in hard copy.
- Perform administrative duties for Honors Council.
- Monitor and reconcile the budget.
- Responsible for effective administration and distribution of Student Evaluation of Teaching and Exit Evaluations.
- Assist the Director in tracking and notifying honors students of status in the program (probations and dismissals).
- Audit student files before graduation to assure that all Honors requirements have been satisfied.
- Coordinate the admittance of Honors students with Housing and Admissions.
- Track HNR 499 senior projects; assist in student submission of projects of Library Repository.
- Advise students on schedules and courses where appropriate (under the supervision of the Director and Student Services Coordinator).
- Assist faculty and staff with administrative support, fulfilling requests for helping Honors facilities, and administering forms, requisitions, and travel vouchers.
- Assist with employment search processes and maintaining employment records.
- Liaison with other campus offices-Admissions, Housing, Records, Facilities, Public Safety, Information Technology, Library, etc.
- May perform duties characteristic of lower level clerical office classifications on a limited basis.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- High school graduate.
- Minimum of four years related experience. Related college course work may be considered in lieu of some of the experience requirement.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully maintaining positive interpersonal relationships.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully operating office equipment.
- Demonstrated experience in providing quality customer service.

- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully using various computer software applications (such as Work, Excel, Access, Banner, etc.). A test will be administered to determine skills.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully working independently, organize own work and coordinate work activities of others.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully performing mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and participate in teams.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree.
- Higher education work experience.
- Accounting/Budgeting experience.
Supervision Received:
Supervised by a designated supervisor but is expected to work independently and apply appropriate policies and procedures within the assigned area of responsibility.
