<span lang="EN"><font size="2"><font size="2"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><span style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt"><font size="2">The electronic Performance Development Program (ePDP) is a communication program for staff members and supervisors to help them understand their roles, continue to learn, and participate in the improvement of Grand Valley State University. The program is completed annually via a multi-stage electronic process that includes an automatic flow of forms between staff and supervisor. The program starts with an Annual Planning document and is completed with a Final Assessment that reflects performance over the past year.&nbsp; For Administrative/Professional Staff, evaluations are also a basis for merit increases in salary. </font></span></span></font></font></span></p><br />

<p>Twenty-five public and private Michigan colleges and universities now participate in <strong>Michigan</strong><strong> Higher Education Recruitment Consortium</strong> <strong>(MI-HERC) </strong>to share information and resources to attract and retain talented faculty and staff. </p><br />
<p>With a growing number of two income couples, hiring departments often struggle when they pursue a talented worker whose spouse or partner is in a field where they might not have an opening.&nbsp; Often they need to look to other potential employers within the regions or risk having the selected candidate decline the offer. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><br />
<p>The consortium is designed to make it easier to recruit and retain talented faculty and staff by helping spouses/partners find openings at nearby universities within the same region, to create networking opportunities and share best practices among member institutions through regular meetings, and to reduce costs through joint purchasing arrangements. </p><br />
