GVSU has Inter-institutional Agreements with several local institutions including The Brain and Spine Center, Clinxus, several sponsors of single research projects, Holland Hospital and The Grand Rapids African American Health Institute. Additional Agreements with local hospitals and other research institutions are in the process of development.
Holland Hospital is an independent, 205 bed community hospital nationally recognized as a Thomson "100 Top" Hospital with Magnet Designation for excellence in patient care (December, 2007). More than 270 physicians, 500 nurses and 1,000 clinical and support staff to help ensure high patient satisfaction and the hospital's smooth and safe operation. The HRRC has served as the Institutional Review Board of record for selected nursing research protocols from Holland Hospital since 2007.
The Grand Rapids African American Health Institute mission is "To promote health care parity in the Grand Rapids African American community through advocacy, education and research to achieve positive health outcomes." By promoting health care parity or equality, GRAAHI will have an impact on the health disparities that currently exist for African Americans who live in this community. The HRRC is currently serving as the Institutional Review Board of record for research protocols conducted by GRAAHI.
