History of I am Grand Valley
How long has "I am Grand Valley" been in existence?
The program started in 2003 - 2004. I am Grand Valley will celebrate 10 years in January 2014.
Who created it?
The Office of Student Life created the program to recognize student leaders who contribute to the campus community, and to inspire other students to get involved. Students notice the shirts around campus and want to know how they can get one; which is by getting involved on campus and becoming a student leader.
How many nominations were there in the past years?
There were about 450 nominations in Fall 2006, around 400 in Fall 2007 and 624 in Fall 2008. In 2009 there were over 850 students nominated. 2011 set the record for having over a thousand students nominated!
