Peace and Justice Scholarship Faculty Committee

 

The faculty committee administering the proceeds of the GVSU Peace and Justice Activist Scholarship shall consist of full-time GVSU faculty members who are in agreement with and actively supportive of the purpose of the Fund.  The Committee shall consist of four members, initially two for one-year terms and two for 2-year terms.  Each year, two new members shall be chosen for two-year terms. They shall be selected from any who volunteer to serve on the Committee or who respond affirmatively to a request to serve, the request being initiated by the Committee itself or any of its members. 

The Committee shall elect one of its members to be the chairperson.

The Committee is free to determine its internal governance structure and procedures so long as it administers the GVSU Peace and Justice Activist Scholarship in a manner consistent with its fundamental emphasis.

The Faculty Committee shall annually appoint an ad hoc committee that will review and evaluate the materials submitted for the Scholarship award and determine the recipient of the award.

The Committee will utilize appropriate means to publicize the scholarship awards and the contest results.
