Grand Valley is in the final stages of a 18 month process that began in August 2012. A comprehensive internationalization review was requested by the Provost and in order to accomplish this, Provost Davis appointed two co-chairs, Mark Schaub and Carol Sanchez, to lead the Internationalization Task Force (IZN TF) in this task. The current group includes faculty and staff come from various departments and offices throughout the Grand Valley community and continues to welcome others to join.
The IZN TF achieved the internationalization review by taking a critical look at the curriculum, student life and extra-curricular experiences, faculty and staff development, international students and study abroad, as well as administrative structures and connecting efforts across GVSU and external partners. The results of the review can be found under the Internationalization Review link on left side of this webpage.
The current task of the IZN TF is to turn our eyes forward, identifying and implementing unique and dynamic ways to improve internationalization within the above mentioned areas. If this is something that you have interest or expertise in, please consider sharing your talent and time with the IZN TF.
Grand Valley did not venture alone in its internationalization review. GVSU has joined eight other universities and colleges in the 2012-14 cohort of the ACE “Internationalization Lab” and together these institutions share and assist one another along the way.
