Outlook Known Issues
1. Calendar Sharing Issue
Permissions error issue when trying to share a calendar:
“Calendar sharing is not available with the following entries because of permission settings on your network”
Remove user from any personal address books/contacts lists you already have. (i.e. Suggested Contacts)
2. Junk Mail Handling
Microsoft has changed the option to accept safe domains in the Junk Mail handling.
You can add individual accounts to the safe sender list but not full domains.
See http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2011/07/08/accepted-domains-safe-senders-list-and-you.aspx for more information.
3. Outlook Web Client - when not using Internet Explorer
When using any browser besides IE, when you save an attachment the system will try to save the attachment as a .ashx file (which is a Microsoft .NET file) – this does not happen when you use IE.
4. Outlook Web Client - using Safari Firefox
You cannot copy/paste a group of emails from a Word or Excel document into the To, Cc or Bcc as it errors out because it needs the ';' between each email. Other web browsers accommodate for this.
5. Problem logging into Outlook
On Thursday, December 20, 2012 a security patch was applied to the servers at GVSU. As a result of this patch there are problems logging into Outlook using the full desktop client installed on GVSU imaged computers. If you get a pop-up box requesting your password you will need to fix the problem using the following procedure.
NOTE: This does not work with Chrome, please switch to Internet Explorer or Firefox. Internet Explorer will allow you to run the file directly, but Firefox requires you to download the file first.
A. Double-click this file, "Outlook Fix.reg".
B. Follow the prompts to install the file.
C. Close all open windows and open Outlook.
If you are still unable to log-in to Outlook after installing the fix, please reboot your computer.
