 Family Futures is a nonprofit organization located in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan in the Riverview Center building. For more than twenty-five years, Family Futures has worked to support families and to shape a community that protects children from child abuse and neglect.

Family Futures is fortunate to have dedicated interns and volunteers who donate their skills and time. Unpaid internship opportunities currently exists for students wishing to gain practical experience in the following areas. 
Connections Program - highly administrative non-profit environment
Special Events and Fund Development - Communication/Special Events
Healthy Start Program - Social Work Program Management and Client Contact

The sustainability intern will manage the Spectrum Health Medical Center Farmer’s Market, coordinate sustainable food programs and support other initiatives as needed. The food programming includes developing and maintaining the budget, basic accounting, collaborating with internal departments, developing a communication plan and marketing both internally and externally with the support of the Sustainability Coordinator. The intern will facilitate the daily activities of the farmer’s market, measure accomplishments, and provide feedback and suggestions to increase the success of the program.

Required Skills:
o Written and verbal communication skills
o Time management
o Self-direction
o Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines
o Ability and willingness to learn

Junior of senior standing preferred.
