The Children's Literature Comprehensive Database (CLCD) contains "information about children's books, video and audio recordings, film strips, and other children-focused media." As of June 3, 2005, CLCD has "more than 900,000 [detailed] catalog records" and "more than 130,000 critical reviews of thousands of children's books, ranging from the earliest baby board books to novels and nonfiction for young adults, and an average of more than 1500 new reviews are added to the database monthly. . . . National, state and international awards back to the first Newbery in 1922 and hundreds of others . . . are included. . . . there are over sixty best books lists such as School Library Journal Best Children's Books . . . All state reading lists are included and updated annually." Appropriate reading levels are also identified in each book record.
