2015 Audition Information for Brass and Woodwind Players (non-music majors)

 

I. Audition Dates

A. Sunday, April 26 - 1 - 4pm - Allendale Campus - Performing Arts Center - Room 1500

B. Audition on your Summer Orientation Date

** If you wish to audition on your Summer Orientation date, please indicate Orientation Date on the Registration e-mail.

C. Schedule an audition date with Dr. Martin, Director of the Laker Marching Band

** If you wish to schedule an audition on another date, please contact Dr. John Martin by e-mail (marjohnt@gvsu.edu) or by phone at: 616-328-1500.


II. Registration Process

Please send an e-mail to GVSUBands@gvsu.edu with the following information:

1. Subject Line: 2015 GVSU Woodwind/Brass Audition Registration

2. Name

3. E-mail address

4. Phone numbers (Home and Cell, please indicate)

5. Instrument

6. High School Attended

7. Day you wish to audition (Please indicate April 26, Summer Orientation date, or other date).

8. Have you been accepted to GVSU for Fall 2015? (Yes or No)

**Once we have received your "Registration E-mail," you will be contacted by phone to set up an audition time on your selected date.


III. Audition Music

A. Sight Reading

B. Range check using the Bb Concert scale.

**Those auditioning for entrance into the GVSU Music Department as music majors must schedule their audition through the Music Office. More information concerning dates and audition can be found at www.gvsu.edu/music. Your audition will count as an audition for the Laker Marching Band.
