Experts will discuss pros and cons of renewable energy ballot proposal
The Muskegon Area Sustainability Coalition (www.muskegonasc.org), which holds its regular monthly meetings at MAREC, has slated its October meeting as a panel discussion of experts to examine and discuss the pros and cons of Proposal 3, one of the initiatives to amend the Michigan constitution.
Also known as “25 by 25,” the proposal, which would require Michigan electric utilities to derive at least 25 percent of their energy from clean renewable sources by 2025, will go before Michigan voters on Election Day, November 6.
The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend. No RSVP required.
PANELISTS
Bruce Goodman, Varnum Law Firm
Nancy Moody, DTE Energy
Art Toy, 4 Elements Energy
James Clift, Michigan Energy Council
Tiffany Hartung, Sierra Club
Cindy Larson, Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce
Wes Eklund, President, Fleet Engineers, Inc.
Although MASC usually meets at noon, this special event has been moved to the evening to make it more accessible to interested citizens.
