Grand Valley’s Michigan Alternative and Renewable Energy Center is an educational sponsor at the Great Lakes Renewable Energy Association’s Michigan Energy Fair from June 22-24 in Ludington.
Schools, Energy Demonstration Centers and other educational organizations will be at the fair to highlight the education opportunities available in Michigan for students, parents and teachers.
Kim Walton, outreach coordinator for MAREC, said this is the third year MAREC is participating in the fair. “There’s a huge educational aspect to renewable energy,” she said. “We want to support the organizations out there educating students about alternative energy.”
MAREC will sponsor a series of six speakers on Saturday and Sunday on topics such as green energy jobs in Michigan, schools in the Bahamas that are conducting sustainability training, and basic techniques of passive solar design. View the speaker schedule here.
