The WindSentinel four miles out on Lake Michigan in December 2011. Notice the icicles on the railing and the metal sign bent back. During the 2011 deployment, the buoy measured wind gust to 60 mph and waves in excess of 22 feet. For news of 2012 deployment, click here. |
