Kassie is a Spanish Medical Interpreter in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She currently works with Voices for Health, interpreting for patients with limited English proficiency throughout the city's hospitals and clinics. Before Voices for Health, she was an interpreter in the AmeriCorps program at Cherry Health in Grand Rapids. Kassie loves getting to interact with the native Spanish-speaking population on a daily basis. Although she never majored in any healthcare programs during her academic years, a true passion of hers was unearthed when she began working in the medical field after graduation. Kassie owes much of her linguistic and cultural knowledge to her time studying at GVSU, as well as during the semester that she lived abroad in Quito, Ecuador.
