Ryan Stumpo earned a BM in piano performance from Grand Valley under Van Cliburn medalist Aviram Reichert. During his time at Grand Valley, Ryan was a winner of the concerto competition. As a result, he was featured as a soloist with the Grand Valley State Symphony Orchestra. He later went on to earn an MM in piano at Central Michigan University under a full assistantship. During his time at CMU, he studied under the tutelage of Alexandra Mascolo-David. He has also studied under Arthur Greene at the University of Michigan and at Interlochen Fine Arts Academy. He is very passionate about creating an awareness of anatomically beneficial approaches towards piano techniques. He specializes in the Taubman-style technique, which involves a full body approach towards playing the piano. Ryan is also very active in West Michigan as an accompanist and chamber musician. In addition, he serves as a pianist for the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, Grand Rapids Opera, and various other music organizations. He resides in Grand Rapids with his wife, Angie.
