Double Reed Day 2012

  • November 10
  • 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Grand Valley State University, Allendale

Double Reed Day is an intensive workshop for oboe and bassoon enthusiasts and includes sessions that will benefit middle school, high school, college students, amateurs, and band directors who want to improve their playing skills, share their interest with other double reed musicians, participate in a large double reed ensemble, listen to experts, view new instruments, and have a college campus experience for a day.

The day will include workshops and master classes for double reed players and band directors, ensemble playing, reed-making workshops, exhibition of instruments, and recitals featuring Grand Valley faculty and special guest artists. Student and professional models of oboes and bassoons from Carlos Coelho Woodwinds and Miller Marketing will be exhibited throughout the day.

Double Reed Day will be a rich environment for players of all ages. Whether you have played double reeds for one month or one week, please join us on November 10!

Sincerely,

Marlen Vavrikova                       John Clapp
Associate Professor, Oboe         Artist-Faculty, Bassoon
