Stored Value Debit Card Policies and Instructions
OURS offers students who may have a hardship in waiting for a reimbursement the Stored Value Debit Card (SVDC) as an alteranitive. The SVDC requires pre-planning, as it can take up to 4 weeks for the card to arrive in our office.
The SVDC does have restrictions as well. You may only use the SVDC for the "big ticket" purchases such as airfare, lodging, and conference registration. The SVDC may NOT be used for:
- Cash withdrawals
- Gas purchase
- Food purchase
- Any purchase over the amount of the award
Grand Valley State University complies with the IRS regulations on reimbursements. Please be sure to review the GVSU Travel Policy and Procedures.
All GVSU travel must adhere to the Travel & Expense Guidelines.
Reconciling the SVDC
- Submit your original receipts with the SVDC Reconciliation Form. Use this SVDC Reconciliation EXAMPLE on more instructions on how to complete the form.
- Submit your SVDC statement from the National City website. Instructions on obtaining your statement are here.
*Please note: if you do not submit original receipts, or make an unauthorized purchase, your student account will be charged.
