Michael Robinson is a Ph.D. candidate in the philosophy department at Florida State University, where he is now in the final stages of completing his dissertation, “Moral Responsibility and its Alternatives,” under the supervision of Alfred Mele. He holds an M.A. in Philosophy from Texas Tech University and a B.A. in Philosophy from Biola University.

His primary research interests lie in ethics and philosophy of action, particularly in a cluster of issues where these two areas intersect. These include: free will and moral responsibility, agency, practical reason, moral obligation, and blame. His publications include: “Modified Frankfurt-Type Counterexamples and Flickers of Freedom” (Philosophical Studies, 2012), “Are Some Prima Facie Duties More Binding than Others?” (Utilitas, 2010), “A Compatibilist-Friendly Rejection of Prepunishment” (Philosophia, 2010), and “Critical notice of Carlos Moya, Moral Responsibility: The Ways of Skepticism” with Michael McKenna (Philosophy and Phenomenological Research, forthcoming).
