Ronald Loeffler earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy at Northwestern University in 2001.  He also holds M.A. degrees in Philosophy from the University of London and the Free University Berlin.

His main research interests are in the philosophy of language, the philosophy of mind, epistemology, and meta-ethics, with special focus on the relation between linguistic practice, linguistic meaning, and our common sense psychological abilities. He has work published in the journals Philosophical Studies, Synthese, Erkenntnis, the European Journal of Philosophy, and Philosophy Compass.

Before joining the faculty at GVSU, Ronald Loeffler taught at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Carleton College, MN.
