Establishing an International Partnership

A function of the Padnos International Center is to work with a variety of constituents in developing sustainable, collaborative relationships with institutions outside the United States. The center understands the need for different types of programs at a variety of levels including: institutional, divisional and departmental international partnerships. International partnerships can generally be categorized as exchange agreements, consortia agreements, or institutional affiliations.

Models for International Partnerships:

Institutional agreements involve collaborative efforts throughout the entire university. These programs are implemented by the Padnos International Center and offer a wide range of opportunities across disciplines that involve students, faculty, staff, administrators, and where appropriate, the surrounding community. Institutional agreements are proposed by Faculty, Staff, the Padnos International Center, and/or Administrators at the university and may include exchange agreements, consortia agreements, and institutional affiliations.

School/Divisional agreements involve collaborative efforts focused on particular school/divisional interests at the university. The terms of these agreements are handled within each particular school/division in cooperation with the Padnos International Center. The Padnos International Center will work collaboratively with schools and divisions to facilitate the International Partnership Proposal process. This process has been set up in order to ensure agreements meet the standards and objectives of the university. School/Divisional agreements are proposed by the Faculty, Department Chair, and/or Deans of schools or divisions and may include exchange agreements, consortia agreements, or institutional affiliations.

Departmental agreements involve collaborative efforts in a particular academic department at the university. The terms of these agreements are handled within each particular department in cooperation with the Padnos International Center. The Padnos International Center will work collaboratively with departments to facilitate the International Partnership Proposal process. Departmental agreements are proposed by the Faculty, Department Chair, and/or Dean and may include exchange agreements, consortia agreements, or institutional affiliations.
