Presidents' Ball is certainly one of the biggest and best traditions at Grand Valley State University. Located at the DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids, Grand Valley's Presidents' Ball is truly an evening to remember.
Make plans now to join us as we Let the Good Times Roll, in true 50's fashion. Retro attire is encouraged but not required. So all you "cool cats" that want to know "what's shakin" - get your "flat top or bob" and hang with all your "daddy-o's at this gig."
Our entertainment during the program will be provided by various student organizations as we experience a flashback to a time in our country when June and Ward Cleaver could never get mad at Beaver, when Lucy and Ricky gave us some great laughs and kids were playing with silly putty, slinkys and hoola-hoops.
We will also be celebrating the Laker of the Year - Carrie Christian, the Presidential Appreciation Award winner, Noreen Myers and the Student Award for Faculty Excellence (SAFE) winner, Medar Serrata.
Both the dinner and the dance will be held in the DeVos Place Ballrooms. The cocktail hour begins at 5:30 p.m. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. with doors closing at 7:15 p.m.
Dinner & Dance tickets are $30. Tickets are available at the 2020 Desk in the Kirkhof Center.
Dancing starts at 8:30 p.m. and will continue until 12:30 a.m. Doors close at 11 p.m. No tickets will be sold at the door so make plans now to purchase them early. New this year - the ticket price for the dance will be $10 until Januay 27. On January 28 the price increases to $15 so buy your tickets early.
In keeping with the 50's theme Swing Dance Club will be hosting Louie's Jazz Lounge with a live jazz band and a dance floor sponsored by the Performing Arts Council. The live band performs from 8:30 - midnight with a break at 9:30. During the break, guests will be entertained by Crossbow. Rootbeer shakes and orange floats will be served later in the evening. You won't want to miss the excitement.
**NO ENTRY WITHOUT TICKETS. There will be NO ticket sales at the door. MUST HAVE PHOTO ID. Coat check is limited.**
