Meet the Laker Hub
The Laker Hub displays feature promotional slides and curated social media content on large monitors in a number of high traffic locations around campus. The Laker Hub is always student-focused, featuring content about getting involved, utilizing resources to be successful, and celebrating being a Laker!
Anyone can submit their own content to run on the Laker Hub, as long as it's advertising something affiliated with GVSU! More info below.
All Laker Hub content and displays are managed by the Promotions Office.

Uploading Your Content
Digital slides
Digital Slide Pricing: $5 per week (but free for student organizations!)
Slides can start on any day of the week. They run from 12:01 a.m. on the start date to 11:59 p.m. on the end date.
Digital Slides run on a cycle, and display for a few seconds at a time. A slide may run a maximum of 4 weeks ($5 per week).
Service Request Tips:
• Select "ONLY CAMPUS POSTING, or ONLY LAKER HUB SLIDE" from the 4 options
• Select "Laker Hub Slide" as your item
Digital video
Digital Video Pricing: $25 per week
(based on 30 second videos)
Digital Video plays in full 3-4 times per hour and may run a maximum of 2 weeks ($25 per week).
To submit your video, please email us (more info below).
Your slide or video must be an event or advertisement that is somehow affiliated with, or sponsored by, the university. No outside businesses may submit content.
Designing your own slide
The design of digital signage should be clean, simple, and brief— viewers should be able to comprehend slides easily within a few seconds. Digital slides are very different from posters, so it's important to eliminate unnecessary clutter and only include essential information. Content airing on the Laker Hub should look cohesive and adhere to GVSU's Identity Standards.
Design Tips
Please use these specifications when designing and submitting a slide, or your slide may be rejected.
FILE SPECS
- 1920 pixels wide x 1080 pixels high
- PNG file
- Minimum font size: 25 pt
- Images must not be blurry or pixelated
OVERALL DESIGN
- Keep it simple
- Maximum of 25 words per slide
- Include a website link for more information (not required)
- It's not necessary to include logos, email addresses, or phone numbers
- Avoid serif fonts (especially for smaller text)
- Use GVSU typefaces like Open Sans or EB Garamond.

Please use these specifications when creating and submitting a video, or your video may be rejected.
FILE SPECS
- 1920 pixels wide x 1080 pixels high
- MP4-4 H264 and H265 or QuickTime MOV H264
- Minimum video length: 15 seconds
- Maximum video length: 60 seconds
- Video must not be blurry or pixelated
- May contain audio, but must burn in closed captions if content is relevant to context
OVERALL CONTENT
- Make it visual - not all displays have sound due to their location
- Show, don't tell (with audio)
- Keep it simple
- It's not necessary to include email addresses, websites, or phone numbers
