At minimum, anyone working with radioactive material should be wearing a lab coat, closed toed shoes, safety glasses and disposable gloves. Each Authorized User should make their own protocol for any other shielding or PPE needed for their area. These should be included in the research protocols reviewed by the Radiation Safety Committee. Any protective equipment worn in the controlled area must not be worn outside the lab unless it has been found to be free of contamination.
