Fitness and Wellness Positions
Responsibilities include fitness assessments, equipment orientations and conducting personal exercise programs. Must have completed MOV 320 Exercise Testing and Programming, MOV 300 Kinesiology, MOV 304 Exercise Physiology and possess a current copy of the ACSM.
Set up and monitor facilities, supervise classes, check passes, implement policies, and handle customer service issues. Position is responsible for the inventory and maintenance of equipment. Prefer fitness facility experience. Must be CPR and First Aid certifications.
Group Exercise Instructor NOW HIRING!
Teach group exercise classes. Instructors teach Yoga, Pilates, Hip Hop, Kick Boxing, Spinning, and Water Classes. Prefer AFAA certification. Non-certified, experienced instructors (one year minimum) may also apply. Starting wage is based on experience and skills.
Massage Practitioner NOW HIRING!
Services provided include Chair Massage, Full body massage, and complete client charts. Must have completed all coursework to become a message practitioner, including all practical hours, and be registered to take the national exam. Starting wage is based on experience and skills.
Fitness and Wellness Center Clerical
Answering phone, data entry, sales and deposits, online searches, developing informational packets and reports, and assisting with daily operations of the Fitness and Wellness Center. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs that include Word, Excel, Access, and web search engines.
Intramural Official
Officiate intramural sports that include softball, volleyball, flag football, roller/floor hockey, basketball, and soccer. Prior experience in officiating and participating in various high school sports is preferred, but not necessary. Must attend training sessions, meetings and be knowledgeable in rules and mechanics of the game. Officials work an average of 8 to 20 hours per week. Work is seasonal: depending upon the sports officiated. Starting
Individual will oversee intramural sports office administration including, but not limited to: nightly event set-up and tear-down; updating participation database; managing intramural sport website and social media; developing marketing materials; managing equipment inventory; assisting the Campus Recreation Program Coordinator. Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Application review will begin Monday, April 22. This position will remain open until filled. Position begins Fall semester. Summer work is also available.
Intramural Scorekeeper
Operate scoreboard and official score sheet, sign in teams (score sheet and master roster) and be knowable of timing, scoring rules and distribution and accountability of jerseys, game and officials equipment. Prefer prior score keeping and/or officiating experience and high school sports participation. Must successfully complete training session(s). This position averages 8 to 20 hours/week of work.
Supervise events as assigned. Duties include set up and tear down; supervision of sports officials and scorekeepers: immediate response to injuries or conflicts; evaluate programs and staff. Prefer prior supervision experience, a minimum of 1 year as a highly successful intramural official, and MHSA certification is helpful. Must be CPR and First Aid certified.
Intramural Office Supervisor
This position oversees the administration of the intramural sports office and works between 15-20 hours per week. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Intramural and Graduate Assistant. In the absence of the Assistant Director and Graduate Assistant of Intramural, this position shall be responsible for the administration of the intramural sports program along with the Director of Campus Recreation.
