New course! REL 343: Religion & Healing

Healthcare professionals encounter people from a wide variety of religious and cultural communities, and engaging with patients’ religious identities leads to better outcomes and improved equity in health care. Launching in Fall 2023, REL 343 will help you learn about the intersection of religion, disease, and healthcare. It will asses diverse ways health and the world’s religions interact, including religious treatments for illness, religious explanations for illness, and how religious beliefs and activities both improve and endanger health.

REL 343 is an Issues course (in Health), counts toward the Religious Studies minor, and was designed with healthcare careers in mind.
