Call for local educators to teach Muskegon Community College STEM camps!

Muskegon Community College (MCC) is looking for local educators to teach STEM camps for one or two weeks.

WHEN: Week 1 July 8th-11th
             Week 2 July 15th-18th 
             Both weeks (AM: 9-12 p.m.) (PM: 1-4 p.m.)
WHERE: Sturrus Technology Center, 388 W. Clay Ave. Muskegon, MI 49440
WHO: Students entering 1st-8th grade (Fall 2024)

Teachers will be paid a flat rate of $450 per class taught.  This includes teaching 12 hours per class, preparation, meetings, etc. 

Attendance at MCC STEM Camp teacher orientation is REQUIRED for all teachers (In person).  The meeting will be held twice in June (must attend one). Tuesday, June 18th, 2024, 12-3 p.m. OR Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, 4-7 p.m.  Lunch/dinner will be served and a stipend of $50 will be paid for attendance.

ALL MCC STEM Camp teachers will be background checked (may also include fingerprinting). Each class session needs to have a minimum of 8 students enrolled for the class to run. If 8 students are not met, then the class will be canceled. Teachers can come in the Friday before (8 am-12 pm) to set up their classroom (area) and obtain supplies.

Please complete the teacher application form to apply to teach at the MCC STEM Camp. This form is the initial application that will collect contact and class information and those selected will be forwarded to the official MCC application.

Class(es) will be confirmed before official registration is sent out to students.  Please include information about the class(es) you would like to teach at MCC STEM Camp in the application. APPLICATION DEADLINE: Friday, April 12th
