Position Title: Affiliate Faculty of Practice in Management

Summary: Grand Valley State University Management Department in the Seidman College of Business invites applications for an Affiliate Faculty of Practice beginning in Fall 2024. Initial appointments are for one year, with potential for one-year renewals for a second year, with potential subsequent three-year renewable appointments, dependent upon department need. Applicants are expected to have earned a master’s degree in management or a closely related field from an AACSB or equivalently accredited institution by August 2024 and be interested in teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate programs. All teaching interests in Management will be considered.

Required Qualifications and Education:

  • M.B.A. or master’s degree (or higher) in a related field by August 2024.
  • Substantial industry experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Evidence of professional engagement with the non-profit or business community.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Experience in teaching employment and labor law courses, in addition to traditional human resources/organizational behavior courses.
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness: in-person, hybrid, online.
  • Exhibited potential to successfully conduct applied research.
  • Exhibited commitment to GVSU’s vision of inclusion and equity.
  • J.D. and applied HR experience

Responsibilities – Essential Functions:

  • Typical teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year with a possible three (3)credit reassignment of time to meet AACSB’s required research and service responsibilities.
  • Effective teaching at potentially both undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Provide service to the department, college, university, and community commensurate with rank and college accreditation requirements.
  • Engage in research and professional activities commensurate with rank and college accreditation requirements.
