Professor Kong’s primary research interests focus on comprehensive and alternative medicine (CAM) and communicative process in illness management in cross-cultural contexts. She has also been involved in research on medical interpreting, social support and health literacy. She teaches courses in health communications and research. She has written and published in Qualitative Health Research and Studies of Translation and Interpretation. She also won the top paper award for Communication and Aging Division of National Communication Association.
