Experience:
Joan began teaching at GVSU a number of years ago and has more than 20 years of social work experience. She has worked with women, couples, the homeless, people living with HIV and AIDS, people living with chronic mental illness, and in oncology.  She is the author of the text, “Social Work and Health Care: Policy, Practice and Professionalism” (2010).  Professor Borst taught in Pécs Hungary at the University of Pécs for her Fulbright Scholar Award.
