What is the Student to Professional Conference?

You've come to college to pursue the life and job of your dreams, and this conference is intended to help you get there. The Student to Professional Conference is to help you gain the know-how you need to make a smooth transition from STUDENT to PROFESSIONAL. This conference is packed with tips to put you on track to career success! 

 

Why should I attend?

Attending the conference will help you gain skills to market yourself, plan for and land your dream job, write a "get-noticed" resume, and interview like a pro. As a "thank you" for attending the conference, the first 200 attendees will receive a welcome gift including a leather padfolio. Plus, who doesn’t like the chance to win a good raffle or door prize?!? The more sessions you attend, the more chances you have to win!

 

Do I have to be a senior to attend?

No. The conference is open to ALL students and ALL majors. It is encouraged that you attend for an optimal transition. The earlier you start in your career development the better your advantages are in preparation for your career.

 

How do I register and is there a registration fee?

What is the attire?

Keep it casual! Dress to reflect your unique personality, keeping in mind that this will be an opportunity to network with current students, employers, alumni, and other professionals.

 

How do I prepare?

We encourage you take a look at the session schedule and determine which ones you would like to attend. If you have class, you should talk with your professor in advance if you wish to be excused.

 

Do I have to stay for the entire conference?

No. This event does take place on a Friday when classes are in session. You are welcome to drop into whatever sessions or part of the conference that works with your schedule.

 

Are there any volunteer opportunities?

Once I attend what should I do?

After attending the conference, you should make sure to review any information you gathered during various sessions and begin applying it to your career. If you collected business cards be sure to follow-up with professionals within 48 hours of attending the conference.
