Comedy Show with Jay Pharaoh and Aidy Bryant!

Join Spotlight Productions on October 22nd, 2015 for a night of laughs with Jay Pharoah and Aidy Bryant from Saturday Night Live!

The show will start at 8PM and doors will open at 7PM, so come early to get a good seat for the largest production of the fall semester!

Tickets are $10 for students ($15 the day of the show), $15 for faculty and staff, and $25 for general public. Ticket sales begin Monday, October 12th, 2015.

Jay Pharoah, is an American actor, stand-up comedian, impressionist, rapper, and voice actor. Currently in his fifth season of SNL, Pharoah is well known for his stellar impressions of President Barack Obama, Jay Z, Denzel Washington, Kanye West, and many others. Pharoah also made a splash with his memorable SNL character, Principal Daniel Frye, based on Pharoah's actual high school principal. Pharoah developed his comedy skills at a young age, training in local comedy clubs. He went on to tour in the UK, the US. Jay recently shot flashy roles in Universal’s RIDE ALONG opposite Kevin Hart and Ice Cube, CBS Films’ GET A JOB directed by Dylan Kidd, Chris Rock's film TOP FIVE and the Independent Film INTRAMURAL. His past feature film credits include “LOLA VERSUS".  Pharoah’s Kanye West parody, “I Am A Dog,” was featured on Above Average and became an instant viral video reaching over a million views within the first week. Pharoah and Kerry Washington teamed up to parody “What Does The Fox Say.” Their version, “What Does My Girl Say” reached four million views in one week. 

Aidy Bryant is a cast member on Saturday Night Live who has been with the show since 2012. She received an Emmy-nomination for the SNL digital short "(Do It On My) Twin Bed" and Entertainment Weekly recognized her with their fan favorite EWwy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy. Bryant's other television credits include a recurring role on HBO's Girls, as well as guest star parts on Comedy Central's Broad City and IFC's Comedy Bang! Bang!

The following items are strictly prohibited by Fieldhouse Arena policy and will not be permitted for any reason:

  • Food, drinks, or any containers
  • Weapons, knives, fireworks, mace, lighters, etc.
  • Cigarettes, drugs, or alcohol of any kind.
  • Backpacks or large bags. Note: All purses, pouches, etc. are all subject to search upon entering.
  • Any outfits or signs that can obscure others' view of the show.
  • Other items as deemed unacceptable by entrance security.

All photography, videography, and recording is explicitly prohibited and any such behavior can result in dismissal from the event with no refund.

Lewd acts and/or behavior that can result in the disruption of the show and/or risk the safety of any attendees and/or performers can and will result in removal by security and law enforcement will be involved as deemed necessary.

GVSU reserves the right to deny entry to any individual who fails to comply with these rules and regulations. Any dismissal from the concert or denied entry will occur without refund.
