Alpha Phi Omega

Service & Advocacy

About

Alpha Phi Omega is the largest co-ed National Service Fraternity.

Here at Grand Valley our chapter Alpha Zeta Iota works to help different organizations on campus, as well as our Grand Rapids community.  Our goal is to promote LEADERSHIP, FRIENDSHIP, and SERVICE

If you are wondering how Alpha Phi Omega is different from a social fraternity, please note that we are a co-ed service fraternity, and our main purpose is to volunteer our time and effort to those who need it!  There are also many opportunites to develop leadership skills through workshops, conferences, and courses within the fraternity.  We recognize the need for fraternal bonding, so our calendar includes many optional social events.

Here are some examples of the service Alpha Phi Omega participates in:

- Relay for Life

- cleaning up the stands after a football game

- working with Boy Scouts of America

- food drives

- Project Linus

- Adopt a Family

- setup and tear down for the Children’s Museum

- Blood drives

- Habitat for Humanity

- fundraising for Special Olympics

- making cards for/visiting nursing homes

- ANYTHING YOU WANT
