Iota Iota Iota is the academic honor society for the field of Women and Gender Studies. Iota Iota Iota is named for the ancient goddesses, Inanna, Isthar, and Isis. The purpose of the organization is to encourage and support scholarship and excellence in women and gender studies at Grand Valley State University.

Triota serves to maintain feminist values central to Women and Gender Studies: egalitarianism, inclusiveness, and the celebration of the diversity of gendered experiences. The organization also works to enhance the experience of students in Women and Gender Studies as well as recognizing their academic achievements.

Those interested in joining Triota must have at least 6 credits in WGS with a 3.0 or higher and turn in an application (gvsu.edu/wgs/triota-application-48.htm) to LOH 229 by January 24, 2012.

We pride ourselves in being an open-minded and strong-willed group of students who aim to change the future of all peoples for the better.  Our activities include weekly meetings, monthly feminist dinner parties, a student lecture series, supporting Women's Center events like That Takes Ovaries, and co-sponsoring events with like-minded organizations.  If you would like to participate in our lecture series or co-sponsor an event with Triota, please contact Megan at (morrmega@mail.gvsu.edu).
