• You have completed your freshman year
• You are in good academic standing with at least a 2.5 GPA (3.0 graduate)

You will remain a Guest Student for the duration of the study abroad program.

After you have filled out your portion of the application, take the application to your Registrar’s Office (or the office at your school that processes applications) where the form will be completed and signed. The completed guest application must then be sent from your home institution to the Register’s office at GVSU.
After being accepted as a GVSU Guest Student, you will receive a G-number, and a GVSU student email account. You will use your G-number to access your student billing and registration information. With your GVSU network login you will be able to apply for a faculty-led program at www.gvsu.edu/oasis. You must then complete your study abroad application checklist by submitting the additional required forms before your application will be considered. You will need to pay a non refundable $505 deposit at the time of applying to the program, unless GVSU has special arrangements with your home university. The deposit is a part of your program fee. If you choose to withdraw your study abroad application after being accepted to the program, you will forfeit your $505 deposit and will be responsible for any additional non-recoverable costs.
It is your responsibility to activate your GVSU student accounts following the instructions you receive as all emails and correspondence regarding your acceptance, bill, enrollment, and study abroad materials will be delivered to your GVSU email account. For additional account and student status information click here
If you have questions regarding initializing your student account, confidentiality requirements, cancellation, or other concerns, please visit the GVSU student accounts webpage. If you continue to experience any trouble logging in or accessing your account information please contact the PIC, and we will work with you to resolve the problem.
You must enroll in the program's designated course through MyBanner. Find the programs designated courses and with your G- number, username and PIN, you can enroll in courses. You will pay GVSU instate tuition if you participate as a Guest student in GVSU Faculty-led programs. To see the GVSU tuition rate click here
Finance Your Journey
Students typically pay for study abroad through a combination of financial aid, scholarships, grants, personal funds and alternative loans. With research and early planning, study abroad can be affordable. Guest-GVSU students admitted for study abroad are not eligible for any financial aid from GVSU, to apply for PIC-sponsored scholarships or use payment/ installment plans to pay the bill. If your bill is not paid in full by the posted payment deadline, your registration will be canceled. Contact both the study abroad office and the financial aid office at your home institution to discuss your eligibility for aid and other finance options.
