Study Abroad Photography Scholarship 2012-2013 Study Abroad Photography Scholarship Application
The Study Abroad Photography Scholarship, established in 2011, is intended to support students who are majoring in Communications and wish to study outside of the United States. Awardees will commit to documenting their experience abroad through images and/or film and submitting this material to the Padnos International Center upon their return. The materials submitted will be used for marketing study abroad programs and educating the Grand Valley State University community about international opportunities.
Criteria and Eligibility Candidates and recipients of the Study Abroad Photography Scholarship must: • Be enrolled with full-time status as a degree-seeking student with a declared major in the School of Communications at GVSU. Preference will be given to Photography and Film and Video Production majors. • Participate in an approved for-credit Study Abroad program • Submit an application through the Padnos International Center • Have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher • Have a current FAFSA form on file with GVSU’s Financial Aid office
Awards & Selection There will be two awards granted per year at $1,000 per student, based on the student’s portfolio, academic standing, and study abroad destination. Applications will be accepted until February 15th each year for programs that begin within the subsequent 12 months. A committee comprised of staff from the Padnos International Center and the School of Communications will select the awardees each year.
