Alumna named WOTV Face of 4

After a six-week competition with more than 20 finalists, Morgan Lind was named the 2011 Face of 4 by WOTV.

“This was especially exciting for me since the previous year when I auditioned, I didn’t even make the top 20 and this time I was instantly advancing,” she said.

A 2010 graduate with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations, Lind won a yearlong $20,000 contract, wardrobe, Biggby Coffee for a year, a car and other prizes. “It’s a busy job filled with incredible experiences and wonderful opportunities,” Lind said.“I couldn’t be more proud to represent WOTV and West Michigan!”

Lind was born and raised in Battle Creek and previously held the title of Miss Grand Valley 2010. “I credit my current success in life and my career to my involvement in the Miss America Organization and the skills I have gained as well as the networking connections I made,” she said.

One of the people at Grand Valley who most influenced Lind was School of Communications professor Kelly Campbell.“That Morgan is a Face of 4 would not surprise anyone who knows her. She is one of the most effervescent people I know — bright, engaging and very dedicated to all she undertakes,” said Campbell. “I know she was not only a great student but very involved in extracurricular activities. She gives 100 percent to all she does.”

Lind said that the broadcast industry is not always glamorous like people think and that it’s actually really hard work. She said, “I absolutely love where I am in life, feel incredibly blessed and grateful having the job that I do!”

Following her Face of 4 position, Lind hopes to stay in broadcasting and public relations. She also would like to manage her own event planning business and begin working toward a master’s degree from Grand Valley.
