An Identified Enemy

By Max Bush

February 25 & 26, 2012

A new play written by Max Bush will premiered after a week-long workshop for Theatre students to stage.

In late 2006 and early 2007, during “The Surge” by the American armed forces in Iraq, General David Petraeus instituted a new strategy whereby small Security Stations, or Patrol Stations, were established inside insurgent areas of Baghdad. An Identified Enemy concerns Jamie Foster [23], an Iraq war veteran, now enrolled in the university, as he tries to piece together the truth about his friend Jalil, a local Iraqi national.  In flashbacks, we see the developing friendship between the 20 year old American Army Private Foster, and 21 year old Jalil, an Iraqi local national who operates as a street vendor just outside the Patrol Base.

There will be an open reading, free to the public, on Saturday @ 7:30 p.m. and Sunday @ 2:00 p.m., February 25 & 26, 2012.

There is no admission fee.
