Valerie Stoelzel is the Concert Manager and Arts Information Officer for the Department of Music at Grand Valley State University. Her arts administration career began at the University of Connecticut where she served as Associate Director of Artistic Programs and Director of the School of Fine Arts Outreach Program. Mrs. Stoelzel has also held the positions of Arts in Education Program Manager for the Louisiana State Department of Education, and Artistic Administrator/Director of Education for Palm Beach Opera. For seven years she produced the Palm Beach Opera National Vocal Competition and created the award-winning Swing and Sing Summer Camp for underserved children. Mrs. Stoelzel was a contributing writer for several curriculum guides for the state of Louisiana. She received her bachelor of music degree in applied voice from Saint Mary's College of Notre Dame with additional studies at the University of Connecticut, the Mannes College of Music, and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Austria.
Mrs. Stoelzel is a member of the Board of Directors of the University Club. Previously she served on the Advisory Cabinet for the GVSU Faculty/Staff Annual Campaign, the Board of Directors of the Grand Rapids Bach Festival and the Allendale American Youth Soccer Organization. In addition she served for two terms on the Parent Advisory Board of Grand Valley's Children's Enrichment Center. Mrs. Stoelzel is also a member of the Music Department's General Education faculty.
