Dean Cynthia McCurren

Cynthia McCurren, PHD, RN

Dean, Grand Valley State University Kirkhof College of Nursing

Cynthia McCurren, PhD, RN, FNAP is Dean and Professor of the Kirkhof College of Nursing at Grand Valley State University. Previously, she was Interim Dean, Associate Dean, and faculty for the School of Nursing, University of Louisville in Kentucky, where she was also the Director of Nursing Research for the University of Louisville Hospital for five years, earning many research grants and awards. Dr. McCurren’s areas of expertise include gerontological nursing and advocacy of quality care for older adults. She has professional interests in nursing education, interprofessional education, and healthcare policy, leadership, delivery and practice. 

Dr. McCurren is a fellow in the National Academies of Practice.  She is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Colleges of Nursing; is the President of the Michigan Association of Colleges of Nursing; and is a member of multiple professional organizations and community initiatives.   


Executive Director Evelyn Clingerman

Evelyn Clingerman, PHD, CNE, RN, FNAP

Executive Director, The Bonnie Wesorick Center for Health Care Transformation.

Dr. Clingerman facilitates learning experiences for interdisciplinary students at various levels and with interdisciplinary community partners. Through the Center, she provides diverse educational presentations and consultations for health care students, faculty, and community leaders. One exemplar of scholarly work efforts was conducting a pilot investigation that focused on health care leaders' perceptions of integrated health care services in the local Grand Rapids community.

Dr. Clingerman is a fellow in the National Academies of Practice and is certified as a Nurse Educator by the National League for Nursing; serves as a member of the American Holistic Nurses' research committee; is a member of the investigational review board for the Migrant Clinician’s Network and is a member of multiple research organizations.
